Passport: Check to ensure that your passport is valid for the intended length of your study period in Australia.
Medical Care: Have medical, optical and dental check-ups and organise any prescribed medication you may require including a letter from your doctor (in English) detailing any prescribed medicines.
Money: There are money exchange places available at Australian airports and in cities, but it is recommended to have some Australian currency on you prior to leaving your home country.
Documentation: Pack a document folder containing your offer letter, Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), academic transcripts from previous study, identification documents, important contact numbers, details of pre-arranged accommodation and important medical records.
Contact Details: You may want to have a list of emergency contact details for family, as well as your embassy, accommodation and institution details. If you have used an education agent, keep their contact details on you, in case you need to contact them once you arrive in Australia.
Mobile or cell phones: Ask your mobile phone or cell call carrier if your phone will work in Australia. You might need a new SIM or handset to use while you’re here.
Customs and quarantine: Check customs and quarantine regulations and pack any items you wish to declare separately.
Airport pickup: You may make your own way from the airport to your accommodation
Accommodation: Book temporary accommodation before you leave your home country. Start looking for long-term accommodation as early as possible
Insurance: Organise insurance for your personal belongings.
