​A private rental is where you sign a lease for a whole apartment or house. 
The lease will include the rent payable, the bond (a refundable amount once you leave the rental), the length and type of tenancy, and other conditions and rules.

​A sharehouse is when you share a private rental with friends or housemates. All tenants are listed on the lease and pay their own share of rent and bond.

​Homestay is when you rent a room in a home and live with the homeowners. This is a private agreement between you and the homeowner.

This is an excellent way to learn about Australian culture and improve your English. You will experience true Australian life, which can be challenging but always rewarding. The key to having a great time with your host family is being open-minded and trying your best to communicate with the family.
